And why haven't I been out??? Well, the still swollen knees haven't cooperated to drive the car - even the two blocks to Mcdonald's. And then the government went back to pounding pilings for the new bridge about a block away - adding great amounts of dust to the air & the damn Cottonwood fluff started blowing everywhere . . . I had problems breathing outside so it seemed safer to stay home. Behind screens.
So, what have I been doing??? Well, I loved my old Petunia baskets at my former place so I got two of them for the porch. They aren't quite the same size as the one above yet but they are the very same color.
I planted my big hanging box on the porch with herbs - the basil has grown so fast I'll have to freeze some of it! I wish I could say the same for the Rosemary.I've also been knitting more cotton washcloths & one large afghan in rainbow spring colors. Most of my close male friends now have a half dozen cloths each in yellow or variegated greens. I have 6 to go in a variegated blue & 6 more in orange. My knitting muscles are almost back in shape - at least I can actually knit for an hour or two. When I started knitting again, I could barely move my arms the next day! Even my armpits & shoulders hurt. I found the secret to decreasing the 'flappers' - you know, the saggy muscles on the bottom sides of your upper arms - knitting, without letting your elbows touch the chair . . .
